*Consumers Urged to Stop Using Immediately*
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is urgently warning consumers to stop using Toos Elite 60-volt electric scooters due to a serious fire hazard.
The warning comes after two people, including a seven-year-old child, died in an apartment fire in New York City that was traced to a Toos Elite scooter.
The CPSC said that the scooters' lithium-ion batteries can overheat and ignite, posing a risk of serious burns and death.
The agency said that it is aware of at least 10 reports of Toos Elite scooters overheating or catching fire, including two reports of property damage.
